The Terry Project
The Terry Project is a cross-faculty program at the University of British Columbia designed to educate undergraduate students on pressing global issues like climate change, poverty, conflict and disease. Recognizing that these problems demand a rich multi-dimensional understanding, the chief aim is to create forums that promote interdisciplinary dialogue between students of the humanities and students of the life sciences.

The Terry Project on CiTR
The Terry Project on CiTR is a documentary radio show broadcast on CiTR 101.9FM at the University of British Columbia. It is also available on iTunes as a podcast. Hosted by Sam Fenn and Gordon Katic, the podcast uses documentary storytelling, reporting and investigative journalism to explore the relationship between big ideas and everyday life. Past episodes include a report from a Pentecostal youth rally, the story of a group of government of Canada scientists who have been kept from speaking about their research with the press, and a radio diary by Emilie, a girl living with Borderline Personality Disorder.

The Need for Branding
After much success and growing popularity, The Terry Project on CiTR was in need of its own brand. The goal was to set the radio show apart from others at the university, while creating a memorable and unique visual identity that would be recognized across campus, and in online mediums, such as on iTunes. The show was renamed Cited, as it is focused on the effects of academic research on modern life. A graphic of a broadcasting academic tower was chosen for the logo. New merchandise for the show including hats, shirts, buttons, and tote bags were produced.

"After the Cited rebrand, our identity became much more clear to our audience. Our listenership figures grew between 20 to 30% per episode, and numerous other media organizations picked up our programmed. We were syndicated on two other Vancouver-area stations, and a number of our programs played to a much larger audience. Our first episode after the rebrand aired on NPR, and our 3rd episode played on CBC." - Gordan Katic, The Terry Project
